November 23, 2006 we got one of the best compliments you can get in the industry: a competitor used our samples for their site!

www.anythingoncanvas.com, swindlers from Springfield Nevada showed 14 samples of charcoal drawings of which 5 were ours used without our permission.

The image shown here is a screenshot taken at 2006 November 24. The samples indicated with a red circle are made by us and not by their artists. We wonder where they 'found' the other samples.

You can see the originals here: oldtimer, dog, the other dog, horse and cat.

On November 28 they took our images from their site. Not an email to notify us let alone offer an apology. Therefore we think it is good to leave this page here.

February 19, 2007: we found the owner of the other images and anythingoncanvas 'Temporarily Disabled'.

While doing research for a new site we found the site of a competitor:
charcoalportraits.atspace.com, the site of Robert Lopez, a talented charcoal artist who lives just a few miles away from our studio in Quezon City.

I looked at their gallery and saw the excellent drawing of the woman on the beach. I have quite a good memory for images, especially portraits. I saw this one before on anythingoncanvas. You can see the thumbnail on the left. I realised that Linda and John Wolverton stole the other images from a studio just a few miles away from ours!
So remember, images so good that they might be stolen are made in Quezon City, Philippines!
You can buy it from us or at Lopez's site.
By the way, the site of the Wolverton's did not survive their bad business practice.
At the moment the site cannot be reached.
